Dual Ceremonies At Mountain Way Zendo

Ceremony August 2012On August 23rd, 2012, Fa Xing hosted a small gathering at his own Mountain Way Zendo in Washington State, USA, to dedicate the recently completed practice space.  As a member of the Order of the Boundless Way, the Zen Buddhist Order of Hsu Yun, and Plum Mountain Refuge, he was pleased to dedicate the Zendo as a practice center for sangha members in all three traditions.  He also had the additional pleasure and honor to be joined by his ordaining teacher from each tradition, Koro Kaisan Miles, Chuan Zhi Shakya, and Kobai Scott Whitney, respectively. Along with two other good friends and sangha members, Gansho Lenny Reed and Marc Paine, they joined Fa Xing for a brief meditation and dedication ceremony.

Following the dedication, Chuan Zhi, head of the Zen Buddhist Order of Hsu Yun, conducted a brief ceremony of his own.  Acknowledging Fa Xing’s dedication to the nurturing and development of the Order of the Boundless Way and Plum Mountain Refuge, as well as his ever-growing commitment as a prison sangha leader, Chuan Zhi recognized him as a Senior Dharma Teacher in the Order of Hsu Yun.
